Well I had a gift in the mail today from Tony. This one is another Mac Ebony Guitar...#3....It seems that once I made one, I had commissions for 3 more!!!!! This one is a bit different. It is an OM 14 - 24.9 where the other 2 were a parlor and 000-12fret. Waverly Tuners...seems that is all I use. Like my parlor, there is a sunburst on the neck. I did this for 2 reasons 1. It looks cool 2. The customer wanted an icthus..(sp) inlayed on the neck, so that his son could see it when he played. Inlaying on mahogany isn't easy. By using the sunburst, it makes the pearl pop out. After this one, no more mac ebony for a while....now I have 2 Koas to build and the 12 string SJ is almost ready for finishing. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

That's gorgeous! But there's something fishy about that neck.... ![]() I'd also be concerned about that metal saddle adding a lot of weight to the bridge. Perhaps you should make it a bit smaller. ![]() Bee-oo-T-full ! |

Great work Andy. I like it a lot, even the burst. Typically I'm not a burst fan but it looks great with the dark b/s. In fact I think a regular mahogany neck might have looked a bit out of place against those sides. ING, isn't that some sort of insurance company or financial planning company or something like that? You're building for the fortune 500 now. Good work! |

I think that bursted neck looks pretty wild if you ask me I would definitely not apologize for that! Its something I would consider myself. I really think your guitars are out of site - the last flat top I saw of yours blew me away -{the travel guitar} and you have had me thinking about trying one for myself down the road ever since. I hope it looks as half as good as yours turned out. Good Job, keep it up! Cheers Charliewood |

Andy, what a great looking guitar -- AGAIN! Your work is outstanding. I noticed you don't have any side fret markers above the 14th fret, I really like the way that looks! Its clean and simple, you wouldn't think that leaving out 3 or 4 tiny dots would make such a nice statement. I'm always looking for ideas and stylish markings that personify (my) vision of a contemporary guitar, as that is my favorite type. Don't get me wrong, I love the old Martins, Gibson's, and the vibes of a nice Collins or Huss and Dalton, but if I were a guitar buying guy, id be all over a nice Blanchard Bristlecone. The clean sideboard of your fretboard its a perfect example to me of contemporary styling. ![]() |

Thanks for the kind words. Actually I am getting sick of Mac Ebony...3 of the last 4 were mac ebony. It seems that when I showed the 1st one to customers etc....they wanted the same thing... Now for somthing different...I prefer understated elegance.... |

Andy is that a natural + finish? or did you stain somewhat? when I looked at them at Allied they looked a little pale but your finished ones look wonderful! So did the finished example on the Allied site, Please tell me. Cheers Charliewood |
